NHS Health Checks - a solution for PCTs
Responding to the Department of Health’s recent announcement of a national screening programme aimed at reducing vascular disease, Inverness Medical has launched its ‘Health Checks’ package of services. Bringing together advanced point of care testing and state of the art IT systems that securely communicate results directly to the GP, the new service delivers ‘single visit’ screening programmes in any community or practice-based setting.
Inverness ‘Health Checks’ offer a flexible approach, working with individual PCT’s to implement ‘tailor made’ programmes. The service can be rolled-out in a variety of NHS and non-NHS locations, screening eligible patients identified by the GP and also targeting the ‘hard to reach’ individuals who are unlikely to visit a medical practice. Venues such as pharmacies, supermarkets, business premises and community centres make screening accessible to as many people as possible.
Eliminating the need for repeat visits, ‘Health Checks’ provides on-the-spot cardiovascular risk profiling and offers lifestyle advice, signposting to services or medical referral in a single interview.
